About us
From creating and caring for valuable habitats to engaging with local communities, our work as a wildlife and local heritage conservation charity is hugely varied and has a positive impact on the unique landscape of the Vale. Founded in 1999, we today own 20 sites (over 365 acres), including fine old orchards, woods, and remarkable floodplain and wildflower meadows. With the help of our amazing local volunteers, we sensitively manage our sites for the benefit of people and wildlife. We are continually seeking to expand and acquire new sites, which is of paramount importance if we are to make our vision of a wildlife rich Vale, with strong links to our past, a reality.
The ask
The biggest challenges we face are the costs of purchasing land and of maintaining and improving our existing sites. As an approximate indication of this, every year we require:

By supporting our work, you will be clearly demonstrating to your staff and customers that you are committed to conserving our important local heritage and show that you care for our natural environment. There are several benefits to your business, you will:

We recommend a minimum donation of £250 (but of course would happily accept larger donations!)
With your generous support, we can ensure that the Vale’s valuable heritage is kept alive for future generations whilst providing a haven for wildlife today.

We are continually seeking to expand and acquire new sites, which is of paramount importance if we are to make our vision of a wildlife rich Vale, with strong links to our past, a reality.
The ask
The biggest challenges we face are the costs of purchasing land and of maintaining and improving our existing sites. As an approximate indication of this, every year we require:
- £800 for water for conservation grazing animals
- £4,000 for fencing materials
- £2,500 for seed to create/restore wildflower meadows
- £8,400 to run and maintain our vehicles and machine

- Be invited on guided walks around our fabulous nature reserves
- Have the opportunity to undertake a volunteering day with us (subject to terms)
